The project involved the conversion of middle school to high school. The scope of work included the addition of a second-level high school gymnasium and support facilities, renovation of existing interior spaces to provide three classrooms, a new science laboratory classroom, new vocal and instrumental music classrooms, a new media center, administrative office space, and limited renovations to existing toilet rooms.

RESPONSIBILITY:

Jois Construction Management provided Construction Management services for the project. This included preconstruction services, value engineering, bidding and procurement support, field oversight and coordination, scheduling/phasing oversight, quality assurance, safety monitoring, change management, and building commissioning.

Duties included interfacing and coordinating with contractors, owners, and A/E consultants on project issues; developing construction phasing and scheduling in consultation with the school officials and contractor; interpreting contract documents; reviewing shop drawings and RFI’s, negotiating change orders, reviewing CPM Schedule; reviewing and approving contractor’s progress payment requisitions, project correspondence, conducting job progress meetings, writing meeting minutes and daily reports.
