LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is located in the Borough of Queens, New York City, bordering Flushing Bay and Bowery Bay. LGA is surrounded by a berm wall system to keep Flushing and Bowery Bays from flooding the airport during times of tidal surge. LGA has five stormwater pump houses that handle stormwater drainage at the airport. The pump houses are located on the airside of the airport discharging into the Flushing Bay and providing critical function to the overall operation of LGA.
This project is the third phase of the program to provide the necessary repairs and modifications to Pump Houses 2 and 3 control and electrical power distribution panels and associated equipment. The work under this contract consists generally of the replacement of pump level controls and corresponding electrical controls, cabinets, associated electrical and mechanical components, and related work at Pump Houses 2 and 3 and the vicinity thereof at LaGuardia Airport, Queens, New York.
